Hackers' Entry

Following another entry by hackers into the University computing network, students are warned against keeping sensitive information in their directories. Although there is nothing to suggest that the hackers who entered the system last week (and used it to distribute Hollywood movies and pirate copies of programming software) accessed students\' private files, the possibility cannot be excluded. The University\'s IT director suggests that students who wish to safeguard sensitive information encrypt it or save it to diskettes or CDs.
