New award to promote gender equality

The Ministry of Education and Research has established a new award worth two million kroner. The award will go to the institution that has done the most to promote women in science, the ministry announces on their homepage. All universities and university colleges in Norway are invited to send in their action plans and gender equality measures to the committee, and the price will be awarded on 22 January, 2008. The applications will be judged by the Committee for Mainstreaming – Women in Science, on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Research.
