Norwegian Scares off Students

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (Mat.nat.) wants to modify its language requirements for foreign students. Students from abroad wishing to complete a two-year master\'s degree must currently attend a one-year Norwegian course prior to their postgraduate studies. Jan Trulsen, the faculty\'s dean, says that the language requirements stop foreign students from applying. He points out that postgraduate students can easily carry out their studies in English.
