NSB defies EFTA?

While Norwegian students obtain discounts on national railways in EU countries, NSB (The Norwegian National Railways), discriminates against EU students in denying them similar discounts. Students wishing to obtain a discount on Norwegian railways must produce a Norwegian student identity card, an Ansa (Association of Norwegian Students Abroad) membership card, or – if they are Norwegian students studying a abroad – a valid student identity card from their university with a passport photograph and an expiry date. Signals from the EFTA Surveillance Authority indicate that NSB\'s failure to give student discounts to students from the EU/EEA area may run counter to the EEA agreement.
