Parliament Remains Neutral
The Student Parliament last weekend voted in favour of maintaining a neutral stance towards the possible war in Iraq. Silje Rygland, of Sosialdemokratene (The Social Democrats), criticizes the organisation for failing to take a more decisive stand against war. The Parliament\'s representative for international affairs, Sven Tore Relling, does not think a public resolution against war is part of the Parliament\'s mandate. – We have been elected to represent all students, he argues. – Some may be ambivalent. Kamil A. Azhar, leader of NSU (The Norwegian Students\' Union), thinks it unlikely that NSU will vote to oppose a war in the national board meeting during the coming weekend.
