Downsizing the Health Service
State funding to the university health services across Norway is to be halved. The University Health Service at the University of Oslo stands to lose NOK 2.3 million, and may have to close its counselling service. Cecilie Daae, the Chief Medical Officer at the Health Service criticises that decisions on funding have been made without professional considerations. – We are already working at maximum capacity, she says. Student health services all over the country are threatened, with counselling suffering the most.
