Few oldsters at student demonstration

Publisert

Approximately 650 people gathered by the government quarter on Monday in order to demonstrate in favour of cheaper monthly travel cards. The protest was organized cooperatively by the School Student Union of Norway, Nature and Youth, the Norwegian Association of Students and the National Union of Students in Norway (NSU). Yet despite the participation of the last two groups, hardly anyone except upper secondary school students participated in the demonstration.

– We hadn't worked very much on recruitment, so I think this is the reason, says leader of NSU, Ingvild Reymert, who therefore does not claim to be disappointed with the absence of students taking higher education. Those present wanted to lower the cost of monthly travel cards to 200 kroner nationwide.
