Discriminatory Access to Literature
Students who are blind or have imperfect vision are failing exams and dropping out of courses because they are unable to obtain syllabus literature in time. Student of Law Stine Elde (21) points out that although she has the right to study at the University, she has no automatic right to relevant literature. Else Momrak Haugann, the leader of the advisory service for handicapped students at the University, says that it is not fair to expect students with imperfect vision to spend so much time procuring course literature.
