Exam season has arrived with all the stress and energy drink that comes with it. Here are a few suggestions to help lower that heartrate.

My first suggestion for relaxation is surrounding yourself with nature. One way you can do this in Oslo is to visit the botanic gardens (Botanisk hage in Norwegian), which contains 5,500 different types of plants and is an absolutely stunning place to visit when you need a break from a hectic daily life. If you don’t feel like going outside, however, a solution could be to watch the newest David Attenborough documentary, Life in Colour, which is now on Netflix. The combination of nature footage and Attenborough’s voice is the perfect recipe for relaxation.

To start the day on a positive and relaxed note, maybe try a quick yoga session at home? The YouTube channel «Yoga with Kassandra» has plenty of 10-15 minute yoga sessions and no equipment is required. In her morning videos she typically asks the viewer to set an intention for the day, which sounds cheesy, but is actually a good way to get in the right headspace and it allows you to focus on what is really important that day. She also has some great sessions for the evening so that you can get rid of all the tension of the day.

Nothing is more therapeutic than animals though. If you don’t have any friends with animals you can visit, you could try going to Alpakkahagen Sørum where you get to take alpacas for a walk. This is also a great opportunity for a photoshoot if you’re in the mood for that. It takes about an hour to get there from Oslo, so it’s probably more suitable for a day trip, for instance on the weekend. Bring your walking shoes and make a day out of it!
