Bottled water sales soar at Bunnpris
Last week the water crisis lead to a boom in sales on mineral water at Bunnpris Blindern compared to this time last year.

Kay Petersen, manager at Bunnpris Blindern, confirms that the sales on mineral water went up 165.1 per cent last week, compared to the same period in 2006. The Wednesday the news about the unsafe water come out, the sales on mineral water for this day alone corresponded to an increase on 471.9 per cent. The total sales that day increased with 93 per cent compared to the same day in 2006.
– When people have to come in for water, they also buy more of everything else, Petersen explains.
– Would you have liked the water situation to last a bit longer?
– No. Although the sales went up, by and large stability is better, Petersen says.
He concludes by saying that everything now is back to normal at Bunnpris, after a few very hectic days.
– We had a lot of extra work storing all the extra water we had to order in, but some of our orders didn’t arrive and it all worked out just fine.
